Bryan McClain
Pastor Bryan McClain is a native of Mississippi and a graduate of Hernando High School, Mississippi State University with a BA in Communication Theory, and Wesley Theological Seminary (WTS) Washington D.C. (MDIV).
After moving to Virginia in 1987 he answered the call to ministry and began seminary at WTS in 1988. He has served as an ordained Minister for 30 years in the Virginia Annual Conference. Those churches include Fort Grove and Sharon UMC’s (1992-1995), as Associate Pastor at Williamsburg UMC (1995-1997), a Three Point Charge in Culpeper VA (1997-2001), The Bethel-Emmanuel Charge (2001-2004) and White Stone UMC (2008-2022) in Lancaster County VA. He also served as a chaplain in the USAF at Lackland AFB (2004-2008) on active duty and another 4.5 years as a reserve chaplain in the USAF (2008-2012).
As Chaplain he served a combat tour at the 322 Air Expedition Wing Combat Hospital in Balad, Iraq. He has also served as Chaplain of the Sussex County Sherriff’s office and White Stone Volunteer Fire Department.
Pastor McClain has been married to his lovely wife, Stephanie, for 26 years. They are the proud parents of Nancy-Jane, Erin-Darby, and John-Liam McClain

Providence UMC extends its heartfelt gratitude to Pastor Jason for his service, leadership, and ministry. While we will miss his presence among us, we celebrate this new chapter of his ministry with his new appointment to Skipwith UMC. May God bless him abundantly and use him to continue sharing Christ’s love and hope in his new community.
Beth Latimer

Beth was thrilled to join the staff of Providence United Methodist Church as the “keeper of the books”, while being a lifetime member of the church. After college, Beth worked as an accountant for Chesterfield County for 12 years before becoming a full-time mom, to raise her three sons. A few years later she rejoined Chesterfield County as a special education teacher at Providence Middle School. In her retirement, Beth enjoys reading, crocheting, spending time with family and friends, and playing pickle ball.
Suzi Fischer
Music Director
Suzi Fischer joined Providence in January 2023 as the new Director of Music. Suzi is a multi-instrumentalist originally from Fredericksburg, VA. She moved to Richmond in 2007 to pursue her degree from VCU. As an educator, Suzi has been teaching both piano and woodwinds for the past 10 years in the Richmond area and enjoys helping students of all ages and levels pursue their own musical aspirations.
Victoria Myers
Administrative Assistant
Victoria joined our staff in January 2025 and is excited to join the team at Providence UMC! Being a life-long United Methodist and having spent nearly ten years in church administration previously, she hopes to use her knowledge and skill to help further the mission and message of the church.
Outside of the office, Victoria is a professional musician and very passionate about her craft. In addition to performing with various jazz artists throughout RVA, she tours and performs with an event band (The Significant Others) as lead vocalist, keyboardist and percussionist. She spends her free time enjoying the company of her husband Brad and their hound dog Billie Holiday.
