You may be thinking about going to church for the first time or you may have gone to church all your life. Either way, it is a big step to go into a new church building for the first time. We want you feel comfortable and welcome when you visit Providence United Methodist Church. You may have some questions or concerns if you are thinking about visiting. Here’s a quick look at some frequently asked questions that will give you a better idea of what to expect at Providence. How many services do you offer?
We offer two services with different styles of worship. Our 9:00 am service, “Connections,” is informal and contemporary. We invite you come as you are to connect with others and with God . Our 11 am worship is more traditional but also welcoming of people of all ages.
Do you offer Sunday school?
We offer many Sunday school classes from the age of 3 to adult starting at 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. A nursery is also provided.
What do I wear?
Wear what feels comfortable. You will find some people casually dressed and others a little more dressy.
Is the Church equipped for everyone?
Yes, there is reserved handicapped parking on the side and back of the building. There is an elevator in the back of church with ramp access if needed. We have assisted-listening devices for those who don’t hear quite as well as they used to.
Is there a place for the children?
We offer nursery services for children four and under. It is located in the lower level of the church. All children are welcome in our services. Worship bulletins, bags with resources for children, and involving children in the service are ways we try to connect. We love our children. We are a Safe Sanctuary Church.
