Music Ministries

Providence members of all ages make a joyful noise through participation in one or more of our many music ministries. Vocal choirs and Handbell Ringers meet throughout the year to rehearse, perform and enhance the worship experience here at Providence Church.


Musical Groups and Rehearsal Times

Our new Cherub Choir, for children ages 3-5, meets on Sunday mornings at 10:30 a.m. in Room 103.

Pass It On - Youth Choir – Grades 6 through 12, meets on Sunday at 4:30 p.m. in Sanctuary.
They are directed by Carla Wooten.

Bells of Providence plays four octaves of handbells and choir chimes using Mallmark Handbells that were given in memory in Alan Gillie, a fine musician and a son of Providence.

The Bells of Providence meet on Sunday in Room 306 at 7:00 p.m. and are directed by Beverley Edwards.

KC-Jam – A children’s choir for kids in grades K-5, meets on Wednesday in Room 306 at 6:10 p.m.
KC Jam does not meet during the summer.

Chancel Choir is open to high school students and above.  The Chancel Choir sings traditional anthems, sometimes accompanied by flute, brass, tympani and strings.  They sing at the 11:00 a.m. service and usually perform a cantata at Christmas and Easter.

The Chancel Choir meets on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary
and is directed by Beverley Edwards.

Morning Glory Choir is a small group that sings at the 8:45 a.m. service each week.  It is open to high school students and above.  The Morning Glory Choir sings familiar anthems and praise songs.  They meet on the first Thursday at 7:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary and are directed by Beverley Edwards.

SonRise Sisters is an auditioned ladies ensemble consisting of six singers who sing occasionally during the worship service.  They practice on Wednesday, 6:30-7:30 p.m.  There are currently no openings in this group.
